Striped Sideboard

Hope your all as excited for spring as I am! I think we finally have moved on from winter here in NC!

I've had a customer waiting list for painted furniture for a while now, and had to wait for warmer temps to get started.

My first one of 2014 was fun....two tone stripe sideboard in black & creme!

Here is the before..,

In process....taped off for the stripes.

She just wanted stripes in the front...not on the top or sides...
After....

I love how it turned out.  We distressed some slightly...kept the original hardware & placed poly acrylic all over with a satin finish!
What a great accent piece for her breakfast nook.

Time for some pickin' & painting!

Painting Wood Bowls & Vases

I picked up some wood bowls & vases while thrifting this past summer....I knew they could be beautiful artist pieces!
The before & afters are amazing....unfortunately I can't find few before photos!
Before......
To after....
Before vases....
These were actually beautiful pieces as is, but I will say the paint really transformed them....
A few more after pieces I painted....

I just love how they all turned out! Little did I know these would be popping up at places like Pottery Barn & Ballard Designs!
Love being creative!

Chevron Wall Hangers from Old Drawer Fronts

My neighbors seem to be always getting rid of something, and you just never know what you may find in the trash pile!
These drawer fronts were in the trash they still had their nickel knobs...sorry forgot to get picture until after.
Not real pretty right? At first I thought maybe doing something fun with the knobs & painting, but when I couldn't find some ultra cool knobs...I had to use some creativity!
Since chevron is hot I painted the boards antique white & did gray chevron on one & tan on the other. I then added orb hooks, wax, and hangers on the back to hang.
Are you ready to see the after???
I am just so in love with these! The gray one sold.  I'm sure the tan one won't last long.
Lovin' me some chevron!

Ugly Chair Makeover

This was one bad paint job on this chair, not to mention the color!

I seriously think a First grader painted it! I sanded the entire chair & still couldn't get rid of a lot of her flaws....yep probably a bad buy!

I decided she needed a fun color like Peacock Blue. I did use spray paint on this chair...she is solid wood, and maybe, just maybe someone will want to purchase her!

She is after all pretty cute!

Yep! She sold!

Weathering a Rocker

I love doing a weathered look on furniture. I picked up this rocker at a garage sale...it was in great condition.
Love the rush seat...and in mint condition
.

To get that weathered effect I paint two different colors, lightly sand, and distress.
No room on my porch for this one...but would be great on a screened in porch, nursery, or even a cottage living space!

Blessings,

Kim

Falling into Peacock Blue

Can you believe we're at the end of summer, and Fall is drawing near.  One of hottest colors out right now is Peacock Blue...so I thought I would paint a few pieces...
Such as this distressed mirror... and
This charming small side table...

Yep, I'm seeing more Peacock in my future!

A Field Of Sunflowers

I saw the field of sunflowers a few weeks ago as Greg & I were coming home from our beach weekend just off an exit in NC.

It was just stunning! There was an artist there in the field painting, and numerous cars stopped to take pictures of these show stoppers!

I made a special trip back to get pictures....

There is beauty all around us...are we taking time to slow down & enjoy it...?

I see a painting in my near future!

Have a great day friends!
