DIY Outdoor Rug

I purchased this sisal outdoor rug at a yard sale a few months ago for a mere $2! A bargain right? It is like brand new, I'm not sure it was ever used! I wanted to use it on my front porch, but it was just too plain!

The other day I had an idea to paint stripes on it! What do I have to lose if I mess up!

I measured out the rug & the width and number of stripes, used painters tape to tape it off! Make sure your edges of tape are securely down!

I had some black satin paint on hand and went to work! I ran low on paint so when I purchase some more I will touch up!

Below are pictures of before & afters!

I'm just loving it for now!

Let me know what you think!

They will be using it for their flat screen tv as a console. Kara we need pictures posted soon of all your painted pieces in your new home!
